In the wake of this last mass shooting I feel the need to say a few things so here goes;
I am a very open minded kitty cat. Just because I don't have a gun doesn't mean I don't support your right to have one. But here's what I don't understand...why does anyone need more than one and why does anyone need an automatic weapon ( the key word here being WEAPON )?

I think this is where a lot of people part ways in the gun debate. There is no use for an AK47 except to kill people, period! It feels like we have gotten to the point where " I want this rocket launcher just because I want it" is what some are labeling freedom.

If there is a case to be made that you have a constitutional right to carry your automatic weapon into the local Starbucks because to not let you would infringe upon your freedom somehow, then there is also a case to be made that I should be able to go to the local Starbucks without having guns bumping my chair and scaring my kids. It seems that freedom is a relative term to some and they are happy to throw it about when it suits them but please don't forget freedom is for EVERYONE.

The NRA tries to make the case that the answer to all the gun violence is to have more guns. Give them to teachers and preachers and judges and why not  give them to people on juries ( just in case while deliberating you don't agree with me ) but if we are going to do that we need to give them to the lawyers and prosecutors and then what about the defendants rights? Better give them one too, what could possibly go wrong?

Look, I'm not naive we will never have a gun free society ( although if you look at England and Australia and other countries they seem to be managing just fine without them ) but maybe we should think about the old adage " everything in moderation ",  I think that there are more people who would like to see less of a gun presence in this country than there are those who feel they need to arm themselves to the teeth... but then that's just my opinion and I'm just a cat.

One more thing, no matter what your point of view on is NOT OK to try to intimidate people while holding a gun! That's not freedom or anything to do with the second amendment. That's just plain being a bully!

Thanks for listening,

A Truly Great Lady...

Her last tweet at 11:43am on May 23rd read: " Listen to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God".

We would like to take this opportunity to remember Maya Angelou who passed away yesterday at the age of 86.

I admit I am not the biggest fan of poetry but there are some poems and writers of poems that have a way of capuring raw emotion to such a degree that you can't look away... This is one of my favorites;

                   ONE THING FOR THIS WEEKEND...

As we all get ready to have a long 3 day weekend, here's something to think about;
As screwed up as this country is politically right now and as we watch and wait for more jobs and better wages and racial equality and immigration reform and... well, you get the point...
Things are better here than in other places. Example; If I go outside and start dancing around chances are I won't get arrested. (Then again you haven't seen me dance...) anyway, here's a great story that should make you smile while you tap your feet or go all out and bust a move along with the music...

Have a great weekend and don't forget to dance to the music of life!

The weekend is upon us and you know what that means... it's time for Sticky Paws and Hairballs vs. Kitty Kisses and Fuzzy Hugs!
Just remember...I'm watching you so don't think you can just skip to the funny video at the end!

OK, now that that's out of the way...

I've said it before and I will say it again, and again and again... everyone is entitled to their opinion BUT and it's a big but, you don't have the right to threaten and bully anyone else because they have a different opinion. That is not freedom! And it is not written anywhere in the Constitution. That is why this next story is so important...
We don't have a sticky paw big enough for this, but it's this kind of stuff that makes me glad I'm a cat! Because sometimes humans can be, what's the word I'm looking for...ya, I probably shouldn't say it;

and that's not the only case; ...

Next, a big sticky paw to Karl Rove for insinuating that Hillary Clinton has brain damage! Really? That's what you came up with? That's where you 're going to go;

Next a bunch of kitty kisses and puppy pats on the back to 9 year old Ken;

And last but not least, weather ( he, he ) you think climate change is real or not watch Bill Nye and John Oliver on late night TV;

Have a great weekend!

This Weekend We Suggest You Practice "The Art Of    Watching Nothing"...

But first it's time for sticky paws and hairballs vs. kitty kisses and fuzzy hugs;

First up, We salute the Republican Party for what can only be called an interesting take on history...
many ideas that came from Republicans such as the individual mandate for health care, immigration reform, background checks for guns and many more are now considered Democratic, liberal and socialist idea's...
So here's a big sticky paw to The new Republican party, as they like to re brand themselves, for voting NO on their very own idea's, over and over again.

Next, a big sticky paw to the IRS for seizing the tax refund of a woman after 47 years!. The reason? It was a debt they felt her deceased parents owed. This is happening a lot lately, will you be next?

And a sticky, sticky paw to the Veteran's Administration. Up to 40 vets have died in Phoenix, Arizona while waiting to get medical treatment;

On the fashion scene; a hairball to all the money (we can only guess how much)  paid for outrageous hats for the Kentucky Derby this year (OK, we admit they are fun but still... there are children starving all over the world!). their mantra must be;"If you've got it, spend it!"
Check it out;

                                               We just had to ask...what about the guy's?

                                                        photo from Huffington Post

A really big sticky paw to John Boehner for dragging out Benghazi once again! The job numbers are up again and unemployment is down. The Affordable Care Act hasn't brought down Armageddon... what's a poor Republican to do? Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi! No matter how many times you say it, it was a terrible tragedy but nothing more... maybe if congress hadn't cut the budget for Embassies it wouldn't have even happened...

And, a sticky paw to the American people...polls show that President Obama's numbers are low when it comes to his handling of foreign affairs, sighting weakness, yet the majority of Americans DO NOT want the U.S. involved in any more which is it America? Diplomacy or armed conflict, make up your mind...

( our apology's for so many sticky paws but sometimes that's just what there is out there... )

And finally... check out Jimmy Fallon and Brian Williams;

Have a great weekend!
