                                                Guns...

You  hear it all the time "guns don't kill people, people kill people". No...people kill people WITH GUNS. Take away the guns from the equation and thousands less people would die.

A child  is dead because he thought his dads gun was a toy.
A woman  is dead because her husband was of the opinion,"if I can't have you no one can".
12 killed and 70 wounded in a movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
26 dead, most of whom were children in a grade school shooting in Connecticut.
Nine people who were at a prayer meeting in South Carolina who are dead.
A twelve year old boy in Ohio who was playing with a toy gun and killed in seconds by police...
and there are so many more...

And now two more deaths of two young people who were doing their jobs and gunned down on live television.

I am not out to debate the second amendment. I don't think guns are bad. I think our mentality and fascination toward guns borders on the absurd and that is troubling.

For the first time EVER, this year more people will die due to guns than will die in automobile accidents! http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2015/01/americas-top-killing-machine/384440/

Please, please, please...
Let's come together and fix this.

    Sticky Paws and Hairballs vs. Fuzzy Hugs and Kitty Kisses;
                                     DEBATE, 2016...

I am all decked out in stripes and you all know I am a star so I guess I am appropriately dressed to discus the debates...

So first, If any of you missed it ( intentionally or unintentionally) here are links to the debates;

And as hard as it is ( and believe me it's really f***ing hard! ) at this time we are holding back our  personal comments about the debates and the candidates in an attempt to be as unbiased as possible.
*That does not mean we won't be calling out candidates and others on false statements.
Over the next 14 months we will be giving you the information but in the end you and only you can decide who to vote for...

First up we are giving  a big hairy Hairball to Fox News for what seemed to be a premeditated attempt to diminish the candidates who did not make it into the top 10;

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow/watch/empty-forum-makes-awkward-debate-staging-500078147867

Next up a big Sticky Paw to Chris Christie for his blatantly false statements at the debate Thursday;
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/08/07/1409794/-Chris-Christie-s-9-11-lie#
It was bad enough when Rudy Giuliani used September eleventh in every sentence that came out of his mouth but Chris Christie has topped him not just for his statements but for the fact that he gave away wreckage from the World Trade Center site as a way to gain political and financial favors; http://www.phillymag.com/news/2014/03/11/nyt-christie-turned-twin-towers-wreckage-politically-motivated-gifts/

And where would we be if we didn't throw in The Donald? So here's a nice Sticky Paw to Mr.Trump. Now this is how you get the women's vote;
http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/09/politics/donald-trump-blood-comment-response-2016-sotu/

And lastly but maybe best of all we want to give a big Fuzzy Hug to William at William of Mass Destruction; www.williamthecat.blogspot.com
for sending us this hysterical video of the debates set to music!

                    NOT SO WORDLESS WEDNESDAY...

California has been experiencing some unusual wildfires this year (blame it on that pesky thing we call climate change ).
But here's the thing, yesterday I heard the proverbial them state that the fires are a much bigger problem than they have been in the past due to the fact that they, the fires, are not doing what they normally do, not acting like they have in the past...
They are not shifting direction with the wind, they are jumping entire highways, they are not acting in any predictable way and this has made them very hard to put out or try to contain. http://www.kcra.com/california-wildfires/shift-in-weather-allows-crews-to-gain-ground-on-rocky-fire/34503942

That got me thinking of the media and Donald Trump.

Months ago they were saying things like "he won't last, remember Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich?" "Next week no one will be talking about him". At the time I thought, hum- m-m-m-m...
I don't think that's going to be the case. But...what do I know right? I'm just a cat.
Then there was the whole John McCain thing and they said "OK this is it, he's finished now".
Well, it's a month later and his numbers keep going up and he keeps saying ( pardon my bias )
stupid stuff and he's still first in all the poles and seriously I don't see a scenario any time soon where he flames out.
The pundits and the media don't  understand what the heck is going on...
maybe it's like the California wildfires, just a case of things not going how everyone expects them to....

Can't wait for that first debate!

Have a wonderful Wednesday...

                                    MEET MR. LION...

Our human has taken Mr. Lion to many places in the world.
Mr. Lion and the human are fortunate to have traveled to Africa many, many times and have had the privilege of working with organizations dedicated to the preservation of endangered animals.

We would like to dedicate the little Mr.Lion video below to the memory of Cecil the lion who was killed by a dentist from Michigan on July 1st. Social media responded to the death of Cecil with thousands of people debating the punishment of the trophy hunter who killed the animal as well as sparking a debate as to the sport of hunting big game.

If you have not heard this story please check it out; http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/zimbabwe/11767119/Cecil-the-lions-killer-revealed-as-American-dentist.html

Our little video may seem silly in wake of this tragic event but at the time it was made it was a symbol of all animals freedom and the right to roam their natural habitats...The back drop for the video is Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania.

                        Video of Mr.Lion in the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, Africa last year...

Have a wonderful week!
And remember, always be kind to animals especially the human variety...
