The Art Of Hyperbole...

                Noodle's poor little head is spinning with all the contradictions in Mr.Trumps statements...

When he's not playing the victim Donald Trump's fall back position is to continuously brag about his wealth ( but he will never release his taxes so we just have to take his word )
Then he will go on to expound on his amazing poll numbers (they are the best and biggest believe him!)
Then how this group of people loves him and that group loves him...( again, forget reality just believe...magic!)
Then using the vocabulary of a toddler he moves on to calling everyone childish and belittling names;

Low energy Jeb
Crazy Bernie
Pocahontas referring to Elizabeth Warren
Crocked Hillary
Lying Ted
Little Marco

So and so is horrible because they dared to disagree with him or confronted him with actual facts that he can't dispute and thus another tirade begins.
Look nobody said he has to like these people but use at least a modicum of  discretion when  talking about them. You are asking to be the leader of the free world for goodness sake!

Then it's on to poor little Donald and all the people who are picking on him ( I wonder if he's ever heard the adage don't dish it out if you can't take it...)
"The media hates me"
"The system is rigged against me..."
"I have to do it, I have no choice..."
"They're mean to me...."
"It's very, very unfair..."
"I would never say that...but let me say that."
"I don't bring these things up,  I just repeat them."
"They attacked me first..."or the more often used "They/he/she started it..."
"I didn't mean that, it was just a suggestion..."(this apparently applies to EVERYTHING)

After which he throws out insult after insult and out and out proven false statements as well as blatant lies; "suggesting" things like;
The Clinton's were somehow involved in murders...
The president is NOT an American...
Ted Cruz's Father had something to do with John F. Kennedy's assassination...

And amongst this litany of words there are no policies, no plans,
just insults, innuendos, suggestions and empty promises...

Disagree? Go on the interwebbie and google Trump speech's  and take a listen to a few
or watch this documentary that was done 20 years ago but unreleased until recently and hear his own words.
The bottom line...if you eliminate the hyperbole and arrogance there is nothing left but a lot of preening and pandering.
And that my friends will NOT create jobs, take care of veterans, or make us safer.

( next week it's Hillary's turn )

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Getting to know the candidates...

Last week we took a look into the Republican Party.
As we are not one to play favorites, this week we take on the candidates, one each week;

He doesn't have as many delegates even though he has won so many state primaries.
He feels this is unfair.
He hasn't taken money from corporations or super packs.
You think I'm talking about Donald Trump right?
Guess again...

When Bernie Sanders first entered the race about a year ago, I thought hum-m-m this could be interesting.
As time went on I became concerned at what started looking more and more like a one issue campaign.
Even more disturbing were the escalating attacks toward his opponent which seemed to be more in line with the Republican side of the race.
Then there was the question of why with all the money he has raised he was not contributing to down ticket Democrats as all former candidates have and Hillary Clinton has been doing for quite some time. This being essential to winning the house and senate and implementing any type of change once in office.
Each of these things on there own could be chalked up to slip ups or ignorance due to not having run in a presidential campaign before.
But added up they have begun to worry me as to the candidates values and agenda.

I also worry that what worries me about the whole Trump fans thing applies in a lot of ways to Bernie too.

What happens if Bernie wins?
How will his supporters  react when he can't break up the big banks?
You need congress and the Senate and compromise. Raise your hand if you think the next president will not be in the same boat as his predecessor. One is left to think that magically everyone in congress will start to work together and there will be sunshine and lollipops for all.
Perhaps it is best summed up in an article written by syndicated columnist  Leonard Pitts Jr.;

Don't get me wrong, I like Bernie and a lot of what he professes to stand for.
It's just that whether it's Bernie, Hillary or Donald if you only have promises with no explanation of how you are going to implement your plans...then they are just empty promises no matter how great they sound.

Come on people lets demand some specifics!

Have a wonderful weekend...

It's My Party (and I'll cry if I want too)...

So I guess it's pretty much official...after a surprising day of both Ted Cruz and John Kasich dropping out of the race, Donald Trump appears to be the Republican nominee for president.

For quite some time now I have been trying to figure out the whole Trump phenomenon.
I went through lots of variations of why those who stood by Donald were so adamant
in their dedication to him no matter what he said or did.
Honestly, it kind of reminded me of the way a battered woman talks about the person who beats her.
It appears that his supporters feel they are some how sharing his glory,
standing in his spotlight, a part of his fame.
That they see themselves by supporting him as something akin to being on Dancing With The Stars.
It's their moment. They are a part of something.
They stand by him even though he has no experience in running a country and running a company is NOT the same as running a country, not even a little bit!
Contrary to what president Obama said yesterday;

So here's my question,,, what happens if Trump wins?
What happens when he now starts accepting loads of cash for his champagne from the very people and entities  he has condemned and repays himself for the money he has loaned his primary champagne? Will he still demand he's self funded? Will people actually believe him?

What happens when he can't bring back the coal mining jobs he has promised because it's not the government that made those jobs disappear in the first place it's the coal companies themselves who cut jobs to make more profit because of the ever growing decline in coal use do to the advent of cheaper fuel.
And what about all those high paying manufacturing jobs he's promised to bring back,,, how exactly is that going to work?
If Mexico doesn't pay for the wall...

What do his fans do then? How will they react? And, who will they blame?
Will they take a look in the mirror or just blame it on Mexico and Muslims?

And what about the party itself?
Yesterday Paul Ryan, the Speaker Of The House said that at this time he would not support Donald Trump,

Lindsey Graham and other long time what used to be respected Republicans are lining up to make it clear Donald Trump does not represent their republican party.

So what happens to the party now?

In January we posted a link to an old political ad that could have easily been written today;

Well we have an update on that ad which is pretty darn remarkable!
Rachel Maddow of MSNBC's The Rachel Maddow Show
tracked down the man in the ad and spoke with him about the current race all these 52 years later;

Have a wonderful weekend!
