The bigger picture...

It doesn't really matter if the economy tanks, it's tanked before.

Or unemployment keeps rising, because we can fix that.

It's not about who wins Georgia in the run off elections and holds or takes the Senate (although that would be great for the dems).

It's not even about who Trump pardons and whether he tries to pardon himself.

Even though in a normal world these would all be the most pressing issues of our time.

We have to keep our eyes on the one thing that truly will make or break us.

The Corona Virus.

If we don't all do what we need to do to tame this beast, everything else is moot!

So, social distance!

Wear your masks!

Wash your hands!

Get tested!

Take the vaccine!

Lets make 2021 a much better, healthier and smarter year...

The happiest of holidays!

Collateral damage?

There is too much talk about hate and revenge.

There are too many people threatening civility with guns and hate.

There are too many death threats floating around.

There is too much anger left unchecked.

Will it really take someone to be killed or injured for us to take a breath and stop the hate filled  rhetoric?

Hasn't the pandemic done enough damage?

Are we now really only gladiators in a battle for humanity?

Are we as a civilization now so consumed with our own personal vengeance and vitriol that we will literally cut off our nose to spite our face?

We would be wise to remember this parable...

What the heck was that?

Talk about material just falling into your lap!

We were all set to go through the weeks stories and choose something to offer up in our post today, when we saw this. (We hope no one takes offence at the content of this video but we just couldn't resist).

Wise words Wednesday...

Oh my goodness, it will be Christmas in 23 days!

How did it get so late so soon?

It's night before it's afternoon.

December is here before it's June.

My goodness how the time has flewn.

What if Wednesday with a gobble, gobble, gobble...

Well it's that time of year once again.

Where we gather together and give thanks, only this year is a "bit" different.

Just think how great next Thanksgiving could be if we all do what we need to do to stop this darn pandemic!

But in the mean time;

What if there were an up side to what humans are doing to stay safe during the pandemic?

Well, turns out there are some good things coming from all of this..

While this year seems especially hard, there are silver linings. Out of coronavirus comes creativity. Out of quarantine comes bonus time with family. Out of activism comes changes for the better.

Here are a few of the positive things going on in the midst of the pandemic.

100's of thousands of flamingo's have returned to Mumbai, India

Drive in movies have made a come back.

Tons of pets were rescued and adopted.

Ina Garten shared a cocktail.

Puppy pictures.

The Dixie Chicks made a comeback after 14 years.

Here are dozens more examples to make you think positive and smile!

So have some turkey with loads of dressing and gravy, be thankful for the small things in life and have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving!

The Many...

First we want to say;

It's time for a peaceful, smooth transfer of power.

As a wise man once said; "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or one".

Second, we want to give you hope and when we hear stories that remind us that people can be kind and giving in this time of uncertainty we want to share them.

So if you want to smile click here.

What if Wednesday...

What if we just go from 44 - 46?

I mean it's not like we really had an honest to goodness President for the last 4 years anyway.

Donald Trump played president while he squeezed every conceivable dollar he could out of the taxpayers pockets and played golf and broke the system into tiny pieces.

And he is bent on leaving a flaming pile of crap for the next actual president to clean up after him.

So I say we skip 45 in the history books completely.

Why give him credit for being something he never was?

Now you see him...

Since months prior to the election, people have been speculating about what Trumps place will be.

Will he start a media empire to rival Fox News?

Will he run again in 2024?

People talk about the future of Donald Trump and his power over the republican party in the future.

I have two words for you; Sara Palin.

Now I know that Sara Palin didn't reek even a 100th of the havoc that Donald Trump has but then again she never was elected.

After the defeat of the Mc Cain/Palin ticket, pundits and journalists all speculated that Sara Palin would continue to be relevant in the republican party for years.

Then one day poof  she was gone.

I predict the same thing will happen with Donald Trump.

He will throw a lot of stuff at the wall for the next year trying to see what will stick. But with looming law suits and real problems like Covid and the economy to compete with he will quickly fade into our collective memory like a bad nightmare.

People are exhausted with Donald Trump and as soon as he's out I predict he will be gone for good.

When he wasn't seen or heard from in those 7 days after the election was called, I had this scenario in my head that he would just disappear.

He would go off to play golf or something and just never come back.

Like someone who can't pay their rent so they move out in the middle of the night and leave a shambles behind them for others to clean up, Donald Trump will fade away.

There will be no concession speech.

No peaceful transfer of power.

He won't meet with Biden.

It's not about him anymore...

We have too much work to do to let him take up any more of our time with his desperate need for attention.

He may make a lot of noise on his way out, or he may simply slink off into the abyss but look quickly because I predict it will be a case of " now you see him, now you don't".

Wordless Wednesday...

We figured with all the noise leading up to the election, we'd give you quite from over here.

I'm just going to curl up and take a nap.

One more thing...

We thought it would be very appropriate to tell you that today is the Feast of Saint Jude day being as he is the patron saint of desperate situations, forgotten causes, hospital workers, hospitals, impossible causes and lost causes.

Seems like a pretty handy fellow to have in your corner these days.

Nit picking...

                                       (baby Noodle archives)

They say cats are picky.

I've got news for you, humans have us beat a gizillion to one!

So I'm sitting there listening to the news (yes, cats watch the news) and there is a reporter talking to a group of undecided voters.

And I'm thinking how can they be undecided 10 days before this election?

And it dawns on me...

you have become a nation of nit pickers!

I heard things like" I just don't care for either one of them", Trump is terrible but I don't like what Biden has to say about what he would do with the Supreme Court, or how far left he'll go on health care".

Pic, pick, pick...

You people are on the Titanic and it's going down fast and there are those of you who can't make up their minds which life boat to get on so they don't get on any!

It reminds me of the old story;

There is a guy and he's in his house and there is a flood and the water is getting up to his waist and another guy comes by in a boat and says" hop on I'll give you a ride to safety".

And the guy says" no, that's okay God will save me.

Pretty soon the water is up to the guys chin and a family comes buy in another bigger boat an says" hop on and we'll take you to safety" and the guy says no, that's okay God will save me.

So the guy is now standing on his roof and the water is hitting his ankles and a man comes by in a helicopter. He looks down at the guy and says, "come on aboard I'll get you to safety".

"No" says the other man, " God will save me"

The next day the man is seen floating dead in the water.

He gets to Heaven and says to God" what happened, I had faith and I waited for you to save me".

And God says " what do you want from me I sent you 2 boats and a helicopter!"

That's who you guys are right now.

you are so busy getting so wrapped up in small individual petty grievances and minutia that you can't see the forest for the trees.

This is exactly what happened in 2016.

People were "Well, I don't like Hillary so I just won't vote".

You are supposed to learn from your mistakes and here you are on the verge of repeating the exact same thing that got you to this very dark, very scary, very unnecessary place.

Please...can you all just concentrate on the big picture?

10 days people! Vote like your life depends on it, it does!

What if Wednesday...

So, what if on Sunday in Nevada Donald Trump told the crowd that if Biden were to win, he would cancel Christmas...

and so he'd probably banish puppies too and no more chocolate anything and he would take away all the colors of the rainbow...

What if Biden is favored to win then?

Even if Trump's predictions were true (which of course they're not) it seems like a fair trade to me right now!

VP debate...

This is all we have to say about Wednesday night's debate;

The best part of the Vice presidential debate came not in policies or trading jabs.

It came when a third debater joined in. ("help me, help me...")

No words...

Mr. Trump is in the hospital, GOP congress persons are disclosing that they have tested positive one after the other.

Secret service personnel and everyone in between within the trump campaign or are somehow involved with the administration have tested positive.

And yet Trump campaign advisor Jason Miller just accused Joe Biden of using masks as a prop.

There are no words...

Is it over yet?

Everyone keeps saying, "the debate was disgraceful, horrifying, pure chaos...

Donald Trump is chaos!

It's what he does.

It's who he is.

The media is dead wrong if they try to lay any of this disaster at Joe Biden's feet.

When you are thrown into a pit of vipers you do what you have to do to survive.

One of the most relevant things that Joe Biden said when Chris Wallace addressed Donald Trumps constant interruptions by saying " you need to stop interrupting".

Mr. Biden's comment was; "he can't !

If there is anything we know about Donald Trump by now it's that he can't stop talking and if he is talking, he's talking about Donald Trump!

Donald Trump follows no rules and that's what his base loves about him.

But in the mean time the rest of us are left to watch in horror as he destroys everything in his path like the proverbial bull in a china shop. And we are left with the devastation and destruction.

So, here's our take on last nights debate.

What did you expect...

What if Wednesday...

I feel like the whole country is in the back seat of the family car and Donald Trump is driving us around and around.

We don't seem to be going anywhere in particular and if asked "hey, where we going?",

we get cryptic messages or the always popular " you'll see".

And so we continue to drive in circles.

Wasting gas

Wasting time.

Wasting energy.

We keep driving past the same things over and over and over.

We drive and people keep dying from Covid-19 at a rate more than any other country.

We drive and more and more people are evicted from their homes as greater numbers of people loose their jobs.

We drive and drive we appear to be driving right off a cliff.

Yet there is still no plan, still no change, still no hope of ever going back to any kind of normal again.

Just politics with no regard for human life by the mostly pro-life GOP.

This is apparently how we " make America great again".

What if we all just wise up?!

A real super hero...

We want to take this opportunity to express our sadness at the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

She had held on so defiantly for so long because she knew that her passing before this election would be devastating.

She was a force to be reckoned with and a true inspiration to us all.
