It's coming! I can almost see it...I'm going to wait right here until it gets here!

I'm not worried, I'll know it's arrived when I hear all the pops and bangs and see all those pretty lights in the sky (I'm not crazy about the big boomie ones though)

Less than twenty four hours to go! So while we wait;

We want to say happy birthday to B. Kilban who is famous for his cat drawings. Check some of them out here; http://www.eatmousies.com/

Did you know that tomorrow is National Happy Mew Year For Cats Day?   http://www.examiner.com/article/happy-mew-year-for-cats-day-purrfect-holiday-rings-the-mew-year

And, FYI...January is National Diet Month, Prune breakfast month, National Soup Month, National Egg Month, National Wheat Bread Month, National Oatmeal Month and National Be On Purpose Month.

So, we'll keep watching out for it and you get ready to have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

                     So... just what the heck is Boxing Day?

We wanted to say Happy Boxing Day to our friends out there in England and the other countries that celebrate it but we got to wondering just what Boxing Day is...So we went on the interwebbie and here's what we found...
http://britishfood.about.com/od/christmas/p/boxingday.htm

Now you have the answer...that is something we here at It's Noodle try to do, give you answers to all kinds of questions, be they important, weird or obscure.
We look forward to yet another year of bringing you the senseless and sensational as well as the poignant and important stories that are in the news and sometimes not in the news but should be.

Have a safe and happy weekend and Happy New Year!!!!!

      Noodle's Truthie Tuesday..."there are no sides here..."

With rallies throughout most of the United States and elsewhere in the world... to protest senseless killings by police officers...
With two police officers senselessly killed...
This conversation can not have sides if you are truly going to move forward.
Too many of your conversations are based in who is right and who is wrong...someone once said, "I have matured to the point where I don't have to be right all the time...there are no right or wrong answers or opinions, there are only different points of view."
Sadly you humans get so caught up in finger pointing and defending your positions that you don't get past those things to correct the issues at hand...

So, I came up with a little nudge to get you going...read the words, listen to the song then e-mail this post to four friends and ask them to e-mail that post to four friends and so on, and so on, and so on...

After all; You really do hold the key to love and fear in your hands, and it only does take one key to
unlock them both. And it really is there at your command.
So, COME ON PEOPLE, NOW...

http://vimeo.com/71869912

THE YOUNGBLOODS, "Get Together"

Love is but a song to sing
Fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why

Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
right now

Some may come and some may go
We shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moment's sunlight
Fading in the grass

Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
right now

If you hear the song I sing
You will understand ( listen )
You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
It's there at your command

Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
right now

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Here comes Santa Clause, here comes Santa Clause... OK, does anybody see this guy? Hey you... up here!

NEWS FLASH! We now have a contact me tab! So please feel free to contact us anytime....

Okay, so let's move on...

This has been on my mind for a while now, so here goes...
Sometimes I think people don't hear what they say when they say it. At least I hope that's the case...it's better than the alternative I guess. I still can't help but wonder why people see themselves as so drastically different from the next guy! I mean you are all people right? So what could be so different that you have to hate each other and kill each other and be afraid of each other even when you don't know that person you are so afraid of?
Cats come in all different shapes, sizes and colors but as long as you don't steal my treats It's all good...
Maybe you humans could take a lesson from us cats ( I hear dogs are pretty good about this stuff too).
The thing is if you people don't have a discussion this is what happens;

and this;
http://www.vox.com/2014/11/24/7275297/tamir-rice-police-shooting

let's face it I could keep going but hopefully you get the idea...now, have the talk! Have it with the woman at the bank, the young man who bags your groceries. Have it with your Grandmother, your mother, your dad, the person who cuts your hair or mows your lawn. The person at in line at the drugstore or while you are waiting for your car at the mechanic...point is you've got to talk!

We want to send our love and hugs to the families of the victims of Sandy Hook...just remember they live with what happened every single day.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/sandy-hook-families-fight-gun-maker-move/story?id=27616657

Now for something no so serious...Ted Cruz!
He's back.... not that he ever went away. He was just craving the spotlight...
http://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/national-politics/20141215-republicans-blame-ted-cruz-for-string-of-year-end-obama-confirmations.ece

Tom Coburn is apparently trying to carve out something to be remembered by and so he's holding up not one, not two but three bills in congress just as he's getting ready to leave, and not just any bills! One of them is The Suicide Prevention Program For Veterans Bill, What a guy!,     http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/12/15/1352015/-Will-Sen-Tom-Coburn-single-handedly-block-a-suicide-prevention-program-for-veterans

And let's not forget Dick Cheney the man with one of many a hearts... although we are not quite sure what it's made of. Mr. Cheney was on Meet The Press last Sunday explaining why torture isn't torture; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-ostroy/post_8721_b_6330730.html

And lastly an absolutely beautiful song for Christmas.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjNfkbQr5zc

It's Time For Sticky Paws And Hairballs vs. Kitty Kisses And Fuzzy Hugs (holiday style) ...

I could be wrong but this may have been what they had in mind when they said I would probably play with the tree...

First up a sticky paw upside the head to TGI Fridays who have been decking their halls with drones! Yep...they are hanging mistletoe on drones that then fly around some of their restaurants stopping to hover above couples ( although I'm not sure how a drone knows if two people are in a relationship) where upon the couple is expected give each other a big holiday smooch ...

The holidays are right around the corner and we think congress deserves a big hairball in their stocking for bringing back the gift that keeps on giving...the anticipation of yet another government shut down!
Oh joy!; http://www.aol.com/article/2014/12/12/senate-to-take-up-1-1t-bill-to-keep-govt-running/21115492/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D580823

A fuzzy hug to Ellie DeLano for her article; "The Cat That Has My Back";

And finally, here are a couple of lip smacking, kitty kissable recipes for homemade doggy treats BUT if you make them into small nuggets they are great cat treats too! This recipe is from Ina Garten, aka; The Barefoot Contessa; http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/whole-wheat-and-peanut-butter-dog-biscuits.print.html they would make a wonderful holiday gift for your favorite furry friend!

                          A Few Things For The Weekend...

Today we are continuing on with the second instalment of Cats Who Served In The Military;

                                                                      Spy Cats

During the cold war, the CIA attempted to transform an ordinary domesticated house cat into a sophisticated bugging device as part of Operation Acoustic Kitty. The idea was to surgically alter
cats so they could eavesdrop on Soviet conversations from park benches and window sills.

The project began in 1961when the CIA implanted a battery and a microphone into a cat and turned its tail into an antenna. However, the cat wandered off when it was hungry a problem that had to be addressed in another operation. Finally after 5 years, several surgeries, intensive training and 15 million dollars, the cat was ready for its first field test.

The CIA drove the cat to a Soviet compound on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington DC and let it out of a parked van across the street. The cat walked into the road and was immediately hit by a taxi.
Operation Acoustic Kitty was declared a failure and completely abandon in 1967.

OK, we have no idea if there is any truth to this tail... but we got it from a reliable source... the internet!

Next up;

Did you know that it's possible that without refrigeration Ronald Regan might not have become president...
Want to know why? http://thecolbertreport.cc.com/videos/v06v9z/steven-Johnson

 A Very UnWordless Wednesday!

What do the tea party and the Republican party not have in common? Sounds like the first line of a great joke right? But...no, many tea partiers really like the idea of being able to create their own energy and not having to pay a third party so much for it. Err go many are in favor of solar panels and wind power. The rank and file Repubs on the other hand are very indebted and beholden to the big energy companies who have backed them and donated money to many of their campaigns...therein lies the problem.
The big energy companies like Koch and Duke, want to see solar and wind energy stopped dead in its tracks or at the very least have fines placed on its use. The faction that consists of tea party types as well as libertarians want to take advantage of the solar boom and save a little money causing even more friction within the Republican party. That makes states like Arizona, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Florida who all have legislation in play interesting to watch these days as many of their elected officials legislate in favor of the Corporations and against the best interests of their constituents. Ah, Democracy...

Next up, we just have to give a great big fuzzy hug to Michele Bachmann...I know, who knew right?

That brings us to; Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi! The patent war cry of the right has lost a lot of its steam after a ridiculous number of reports that all exonerate the President and Hillary Clinton et all. Even one they organized and chaired themselves! But that apparently is just not good enough for Lindsey Graham;

And of course we would be remiss if we didn't have a little something for the cats (and dogs of course);

And not to leave out the conservative pets; http://www.glamourmutt.com/Republican-Dog-Collar_p_780.html

And if that weren't enough...how about Jimmy Fallon and Brad Pitt? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBij_rEXdCk

Last but not at all least... music. A little something to get you into the holiday spirit; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY9NWqS4M_U  ( From the Academy Awards for best song, Believe; from The Polar Express.)

                   SOMETHINGS FOR THE WEEKEND...

Well, they said it could snow and it did ( is )! Mind you we don't get snow like they do back east but it 's still enough to stop traffic and disrupt peoples plans. I know right? waaaa...boo hoo.
People across the country are digging out of their drive ways and dropping dead and here I am crying about 1/2 inch ( more or less)... Food for thought..." it's not always about you!"

Here are a few things we thought you might like to know about;

So, Rudy Giuliani's mouth... http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2014/11/23/giuliani-white-police-officers-wouldnt-be-there-if-you-werent-killing-each-other/

                        GOBBLE, GOBBLE, GOBBLE...
                                                               ( and I'm in color!)

Well, here we are, another Thanksgiving is upon us. It's time to give thanks for ... hum -m-m-m...
Now, I can say this because I'm a cat...but you humans don't seem to be doing too well these days. What with all the political wrangling you can't seem to get a bridge built or a road fixed. You are fighting multiple wars that never seem to end. You have more homeless children than ever before and more people living in poverty even though they are sometimes working two jobs You are gutting the planet with fracking and drilling and deforestation, all so that you can drive farther in bigger cars, pay less for oil and buy more stuff that we all know you really don't need. You wring your hands when there is yet another school shooting but do nothing to prevent the next one and you think that just because you say that racism no longer exists because "hey we have an African American President don't we?", that somehow makes it true. So you dissect voting rights, let corporations throw billions of dollars at whoever they want and then you cry when the election process is a joke so you don't vote at all...

OK, OK...let's start over...

It's almost Thanksgiving! It's the time of year we reflect on our humble little lives and give thanks for all the things we hold near and dear to our hearts.
We eat too much and watch a lot of sporty type games. We argue with Uncle Harold about politics and why in Gods name is it so hard to get background checks for guns? And he reminds us that President Obama is sending more and more troops into Iraq...then we all settle back for another piece of Aunt Lucy's pumpkin pie, even though none of us really needs another piece and discuss why Stewart isn't married yet, Gwen hasn't gotten that promotion and why Margaret is such a bi**h.
At the end of the evening we go about gathering up our coats and hats as we head for the door on our long way home. We curse the traffic and the weather and swear that next year we will make some excuse not to join in the festivities.

But here's the thing...no matter how much we bi**h and moan about it all, there is something about this time of year that makes us better people. If only for a few weeks. We smile a little easier, we give a little more to others and for all intents and purposes we are a little happier with the world in general. For those few weeks we see the better part of people and we are better people and the world is a better place.
Wouldn't it be great if this year we could manage to make it last a little bit longer than for those few weeks in November and December...now wouldn't that be something?

Just don't forget about that first paragraph for too long, OK?

Something to think about on this Thanksgiving holiday: The number of homeless children in this country has risen dramatically; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/17/child-homelessless-us_n_6169994.html

It's time once again for sticky paws and hairballs vs. fuzzy hugs and kitty kisses!

First up; we are giving a big sticky paw to the NRA. If you love your pet you may want to take a look at this... click on the link and prepare yourself!
http://www.salon.com/2014/10/29/stephen_colbert_blasts_the_nras_power_in_pennsylvania_the_nra_defeated_the_anti_pet_eating_bill/

A bully, is a bully, is a bully...so next we are giving a big hairball to Governor Chris Christie for being a bully. I don't care who you are or what your opinion... this is unacceptable behavior from any adult especially one who is an elected official.
My advice to Mr. Christie... grow up or stop talking. Haven't you learned, "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all" - Thumper from the movie Bambi.

We want to give a big kitty kiss to the mind of Vincent Van Gogh: check out this discovery in his paintings;

Next a big fuzzy hug to Texas, yep you heard me; http://thedailyshow.cc.com/videos/0sqnz7/democalypse-2014---south-by-south-mess---the-state-of-texas-

A big fuzzy hug to dogs...this puppy has his own way of doing things! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/19/golden-retriever-dog-fails-obedience-test-video_n_6186890.html

And last but not least we are giving a big kitty kiss and a fuzzy hug to the song "Soft Kitty" from  The Big Bang Theory; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIp77PUvLTE

                                      On Immigration...

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
with conquering limbs astride from land to land;
here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
a mighty woman with a torch whose flame
is the imprisoned lightning and her name,
mother of exiles. From her beaconed hand
glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
the air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

" Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!"
cries she with silent lips." Give me your tired, your poor,
your huddled masses yearning to breath free.
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Emma Lazarus ( 1849-1887 )

The Statue Of Liberty was not conceived or sculpted as a symbol of immigration, yet with the addition of this poem which was placed on a bronze plaque inside, she became the unofficial greeter
of all incoming immigrants from around the world.

Later today the president will give a speech on what he plans to do on immigration reform. There has been a lot of huffing and puffing by certain politicians in Washington over the last week on the actions that the president is suspected to take. Perhaps if those who are doing all that huffing and puffing had taken the bi-patrician Senate bill to a vote or come up with their own viable plan that wasn't just "send them all back", there would be nothing to huff and puff about...

This country was conceived intentionally on the premise that we are a nation of immigrants. This is something we should be proud of, it makes us who we are. Why are we trying to re write history? What are we so afraid of?
Thoughts?

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's The Weekend And You Know What That Means...
It's time for sticky paws and hairballs vs. fuzzy hugs and kitty kisses!

First, a big fuzzy hug to the folks in Seattle who are raising money via an Indiegogo campaign to start The Meowtroplitan Café! Check it out and donate at; http://www.seattlemeowtropolitan.com/

Next; a big fuzzy hug to Tom Butt of Richmond, California who bucked the odds and won his race for mayor last Tuesday. The odds were BIG odds as in Chevron Oil, who shelled out 1.3 Million with an M on a candidate who would do their bidding despite what was good for the area, against Tom's 40 thousand as in dollars not millions not billions just dollars... http://richmondconfidential.org/2014/11/05/progressives-capture-city-hall-and-council-fending-off-chevron-money/ sometimes the little guy actually does win!

Proving once again that we here at Noodle's blog can be totally bipartisan; we give a big sticky paw to President Obama for increasing the number of non combat troops being sent to Iraq. What started this summer at around 245 is now closer to 3100, and counting? We will be watching...; http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/obama-authorizes-1500-additional-troops-iraq

A sticky paw served up with Alka Seltzer to PepsiCo and Doritos who have combined Mountain Dew and the taste of Doritos to make a new "dewrink".
"it tastes like you took a drink of Mountain Dew and ate some Doritos at the same time, then threw up a little bit in your mouth"- Steven Colbert; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2827610/Mountain-Dew-confirms-making-Dorito-s-flavored-soda.html

And speaking of Mr. Colbert, we want to give him a kitty kiss for his "The Word" segment on Tuesday which clarifies the newly elected Republican majority's agenda going forward;
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/11/stephen-colbert-on-republican-congress-trap_n_6139388.html

LATE BREAKING NEWS;
I love writing that!
A big fuzzy hug to the tiger that is apparently roaming around just outside of Paris...that's Paris France in case you were wondering if maybe I was talking about Paris, Texas or something...
A tiger was spotted earlier today and the police have been busy trying not only to find it but also trying to figure out where the heck it came from! http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-30035666

And last up a big fuzzy hug to great music! Take a listen...great voice, great song... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb0AHg0PSNY

                 And Now, Something For The Weekend...

We here at Noodle's Blog are suffering from post election madness and so we thought we'd take this opportunity to share a bit of intriguing cat trivia with you;

In 1968 the Army began experimenting with the use of "night eyes" or "seeing eye cats". The Army had for a long time been quietly impressed with the night vision of cats. The mission of the project was to employ this special ability; harnessed cats were to lead foot-soldiers through the thick jungle during the dead of night.
Certain people in high command had such enthusiasm for the idea that an order was given that "night eyes" be field tested, so the operation was put into use in Viet Nam on an experimental basis.
After a month of night maneuvering with the seeing-eye cats, a report was filed with the section on Unconventional Warfare which in part stated; "...A squad, upon being ordered to move out, was lead off in all different directions by the cats.
"...On many occasions the animals lead the troops racing through thick brush in pursuit of field mice and birds.
"...Troops had to force the cats to follow the direction of the patrol; the practice often led to the animals stalking and attacking the dangling pack straps of the American soldiers marching directly in front of them.
"...If the weather was inclement or even threatening inclemency, the cats were never anywhere to be found.
"...Often when the troops were forced to take cover, the animals took this opportunity to sharpen their claws on the boots of the troops, regardless of the seriousness of the situation.
"...A number of the troops traded their animals to Vietnamese women for their favors. When questioned about this, the troops claimed the animals ran away.

   The project was suspended.

So OK... we'd like to take a moment to congratulate the Republicans on their wins in the House and the Senate (no one can say we are sore losers). But now that they have won unfortunately I see only two possible scenarios for the newly elected Republican stronghold...

When you wish upon a star...

Scenario #1...

OK you guys, now that we have the House AND the Senate we need to show the country that they should vote for us in 2016! Here's the plan; we sat around on our hands for 6 years doing nothing but being obstructive then we convinced everybody that the reason nothing got passed was all Obama's fault. His poll numbers dropped and we ran the board Tuesday night...but now that we are in... we pass some small bit of insignificant immigration reform, a watered down version of a  jobs bill, we throw a teeny tiny little bit of money at infrastructure all while passing the Keystone Pipeline, ripping out the Affordable care Act and lowering taxes on the rich even more. In other words business as usual...with a little smoke and mirrors thrown in!
Then in 2016, we look great and have a good chance of getting the Latino vote because, hey we actually passed something on immigration no matter how insignificant it was. We take back the White House and lock out the Dems forever with gerrymandering, dark money and our appointees to the Supreme Court...ta da!

Scenario #2...

Impeach the President
Overturn Obama Care
Take Personhood and make it law in all 50 states...
Impeach the President
Turn back gay rights
Abolish the minimum wage in all states
Impeach the President...
Oh, and expand gun rights to include tanks and rocket launchers ( or maybe those are already legal! )
and don't forget to...impeach the President!

And, the oh so unlikely scenario #3...

Of course there is a 3rd option but it's so remote that I hesitate to even mention it...
For whatever reason sanity prevails and everyone works together and the country prospers and the economy booms and we become the rational people's democracy that we were set up to be and we all live happily ever after...Fairy tales have been known to come true...

Watch this space!

     A Few Fun And Interesting Things For The Weekend...

In 1982 Louis Comuti, the first feline veterinarian, reported an incident; an elderly widow wanted to be buried with her cat. When the cat passed away, she had it buried in a pet cemetery where it would lie until her own death. Unfortunately she soon found out that it violated health regulations for the cat to be buried with her. Not to be deterred the woman had the cat cremated and its ashes where sewn into the hem of her wedding dress in which she was ultimately was buried.

This  week on Meet The Press; an interesting video of " what kids would sound like if they talked like politicians"; http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jeffrey-meyer/2014/10/26/meet-press-creates-political-skit-complaining-about-americas

Next check out the floating cat sanctuary in Amsterdam ; http://depoezenboot.nl/

Did you know that people are selling their imaginary friends on e bay? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/20/imaginary-friends-ebay_n_6015942.html

And lastly we want to give a big Noodle hug to Blue Marble Ice Cream. Made in Brooklyn, New York not only did Alexis and Jennie start this great sweet treat business but they took it a step further and started a non-profit to help women in Rwanda and soon in Haiti by helping to open ice cream shops in both countries! We love this idea and we love them for putting a wonderful dream into reality. Check out the ice cream and donate to the cause! http://www.bluemarbleicecream.com/ and http://www.bluemarbledreams.org/Support/

As some of you may know by now we have had another school shooting in our area today; http://blogs.seattletimes.com/today/2014/10/shooting-reported-at-marysville-pilchuck-high-school/
Our hearts go out to all those affected by this tragedy. In hindsight it seems as though we picked a good day to try to make people smile a little...

     Something's for the weekend we thought you might enjoy!

OK, the world seems all topsey turvey right now...so we found a few things we hope will make you smile;

First up is a video put together by John Oliver and comp. It is doggie Supreme Court. You have to take a look at this! It is set up so that you can run your very own audio and make the justices say whatever you like;

                               We Love You Canada!

We are taking the unusual step of a second post today. We here at Noodle's blog want to take this opportunity to express our deep sorrow to the citizens of Canada. Today's attack was the second one in a week. We at Noodle's blog feel very close to Canada and always have. We live in Seattle and are about 3 hours away from Canada by car. When I was growing up, my grandmother would wrangle all the grandkids onto a ferry every summer and take us all to Victoria for the day...it was the coolest thing we got to do!
We just wanted to say "we love you Canada" and all of the wonderful people who live there!
We are sending you lots and lots of Noodle hugs and kisses...

All our love,

Noodle and crew

Once again it's time for sticky paws and hairballs vs. kitty kisses and fuzzy hugs...

OK, this is something I never thought I'd say but a big fuzzy hug to Bill O' Reilly of Fox news! We are big enough that we can give credit where credit is due and so we are giving Bill O' Reilly an "atta boy" for sort of admitting that there is such a thing as white privilege and that it does indeed exist still today... frankly we didn't think he had it in him...I'm pleased to admit we were wrong! Check it out; http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2014/10/16/3580551/jon-stewart-white-privilege/

A big sticky paw to state senator Stacey Campfield of Tennessee for mocking a journalist after the reporter was laid off; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/16/stacey-campfield-cari-gervin_n_5999798.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl10%7Csec3_lnk4%26pLid%3D547326

Once again we give a sticky paw to congress and politics in general for the pure theater of what politics has become...don't believe me? check out this video on the Daily Show about some of the candidates running in this years midterms; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/16/jon-stewart-2014-election_n_5994696.html?utm_hp_ref=comedy&ir=Comedy

A big fuzzy hug to the Halloween staple that everyone can relate to...candy corn! Here are 10 things you might not know about the iconic sweet; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/17/candy-corn-facts_n_5961586.html

A big kitty kiss to this little guy for trying soooo hard! http://on.aol.com/video/cute-white-lion-cubs-attempt-to-roar-518466061?hp=1&playlist=127167&icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl24%7Csec3_lnk1%26pLid%3D546966

And lastly... we are asking everyone to click on this link and sign the petition for common sense gun legislation of background checks in all 50 states; a big kitty kiss to all that do! http://act.everytown.org/sign/TellCongress/?source=aonp_BC.C10.A01&utm_source=ao_n_&utm_medium=_p&utm_campaign=BC.C10.A01

     We're doing something a little different this Wednesday...

After looking around, it seems as though the world is going through some pretty rough times... what with Ebola, Isis, multiple wars, poverty... you get the idea. We decided that everyone needed a little something uplifting. Now please understand we are not very religious or affiliated with any particular religion...that being said it is my belief that angels are for everybody! And so we would like to share with you something a little angelic... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRUErh47sao

Have a heavenly Wednesday!

It's that time again...time for sticky paws and hairballs vs. fuzzy hugs and kitty kisses!

A big fuzzy hug to Statistics! We have them about and for everything! But would it surprise you to know that there is nowhere to be found on the internet machine (or anywhere else for that matter) some type of national data base for the number of police shootings of citizens? Hummmmm;  http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2014/09/08/how-many-police-shootings-a-year-no-one-knows/

A big sticky paw to the laziness of The Supreme Court. Have you ever heard of an amicus brief? Well you may want to take a minute to watch this video...Seems the Supreme Court is putting a lot of stock these days in amicus briefs which should concern us all ALOT! http://thecolbertreport.cc.com/videos/heaxbs/victory-for-gay-marriage---the-rise-of-amicus-briefs

A very large hairball to Congress ( they are racking them up aren't they?) Did you know that this bill has been stalled in Congress for quite sometime. Check out the Water For The World Act;
http://www.wateraid.org/us/get-involved/campaign-and-advocate?gclid=CIKbp7ag_8ACFchgfgodWicACw

This is a Noodle Blog first!!!!!!!!!

A fuzzy hug AND a sticky paw both at the same time to VP Joe Biden.

1st... the fuzzy hug for our love of the one man in Washington politics who isn't afraid to speak his mind.
2nd... the sticky paw for saying those things out loud when there are times when he should probably say them in his head first.
But we are taking back the sticky paw because all in all we just love Joe Biden! He's the real deal and that's just really rare... http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/10/06/joe-biden-apologizes-for-telling-the-truth/

And a sticky paw to the CEO of Micro Soft for his remarks to a women's group no less!
http://www.npr.org/blogs/alltechconsidered/2014/10/10/355100973/microsoft-ceo-nadellas-remarks-add-to-techs-sexism-problem

And last but unfortunately not least...a harry hairball to Sarah Palin and family. Oh I know, all families have issues but really?; http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/09/politics/palin-family-brawl/index.html

Have a great weekend!

It's time for sticky paws and hairballs vs. fuzzy hugs and kitty kisses...

A big fuzzy hug and kitty kiss to the first anniversary of the Affordable Care Act! The world is still spinning and has not come to an end.

A big stinky sticky paw to the Secret Service! Shame, shame, shame! http://thecable.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2014/10/01/the_secret_service_s_public_screwups_just_cost_its_director_her_job

A great big fuzzy hug to Linda Tirado for teaching us about poverty... have you ever stopped to think about how fragile our lives are and how it might only take a couple of unexpected circumstances in any one of our lives for any of us to end up homeless or in poverty? This essay went viral! Take a moment to give it a read; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/linda-tirado/why-poor-peoples-bad-decisions-make-perfect-sense_b_4326233.html

Next a really big hairball to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who seems to think he knows everything about everything he even seems to think he can speak for God. Look, I don't care who you are or what your politics or religious affiliation please people stop speaking FOR God and Jesus and any other religious deity. Let them speak for themselves if and when they choose to!  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/02/antonin-scalia-religion-government_n_5922944.html

A big fuzzy hug to John Stewart and The Daily Show for this great video piece on the debate over the name of Washington's football team; http://thedailyshow.cc.com/videos/189afv/the-redskins--name---catching-racism

Next up a big kitty kiss to nature! Just check this out... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/02/full-circle-rainbow-australia_n_5920386.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl11%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D539711

And finally; speaking of sticky paws... check out this video of dogs eating peanut butter; http://on.aol.com/video/this-video-of-dogs-eating-peanut-butter-in-slow-motion-is-adorable-518438544?hp=1&playlist=127164&icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl19%7Csec3_lnk2%26pLid%3D539493

And last but not least a HUGE sticky paw to our new neighbor downstairs for playing his music so loud I can literally hear what song he's playing while trying to write this!

Have a great weekend!

                                  Wordless Wednesday...

Wow, update!!!!
The human was sitting here doing the blog and whoosh the power just went out!
She did some research ( went outside ) and eventually found out why. Seems a garbage truck ran into a power line and took out 4,300 household's electricity... and so she finished this post  at Caffé Ladro ; www.caffeladro.com and chatted away the time with the nice barista named Kathryn.
On the internet machine the website for the neighborhood said 90 percent of the residences would have their power back within an hour BUT the other 10 percent might have to wait up to seven hours! Ever the pessimist the human figured we would be one of the later... happily she was wrong! An hour later we have our power back (whew!) So, thank you to Caffé Ladro and Kathryn.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

And now for some tunes!

                          No matter how many times we hear this song, we just can't get enough of it:          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLQl3WQQoQ0
Beautiful voice, beautiful lyrics, beautiful melody... what's not to like?

Have a wonderful Monday!

          Some things to think about this weekend... and music!

If you think last weeks White House fence jumping incident was something... how about the guy who stole a helicopter and landed it on the White House lawn back in 1974!?
http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/citydesk/2011/02/17/today-in-d-c-history-stolen-helicopter-lands-on-white-house-lawn/

Here is something almost as amazing! Bill O'Reilly defending President Obama...I know OMG; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/25/bill-oreilly-obama-salute-latte-fox-news-friends_n_5881750.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl11%7Csec3_lnk4%26pLid%3D535594

There have been way too many shootings of people just going about their daily lives lately. The episode in Wal-Mart which happened not long before the Michael Brown case....... http://www.aol.com/article/2014/09/25/feds-to-investigate-police-shooting-death-of-john-crawford/20967548/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5-news%7Cdl9%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D535481
But now comes an even more disturbing case that is so obviously wrong that no one would believe it if it weren't for the video ;
http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/25/justice/south-carolina-trooper-shooting/
This really has to stop!

And now for something beautiful...

Here is some rare footage of a snow leopard; http://on.aol.com/video/rare-snow-leopards-appear-in-chinas-mount-qomolangma-area-518432540?hp=1&playlist=127164&icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl22%7Csec3_lnk1%26pLid%3D535542

And last but not least by any means... Today ( Sept. 26th ) back in 1969, the Beatles released their final album; Abby Road! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhRWTACcU70&index=12&list=PLYeF09gmFBShHLbG-YNzWd_IBA6RR-q02

Have a great weekend!
