Goodbye to August...
Yesterday was our last entry into August Break 2015. We decided to post a version of it here but with a different photo.
(You can check out the original by clicking on the red August Break square to the right)
August was...
hot and sunny and dry with flip-flops and tank tops and minimalist
make up.
It was sultry and playful and could not last.
A flower that has gradually faded and dried now only a reminder of what was.
So, now we return to number 2 pencils and new notebooks.
To heavier clothes, shoes and boots and warm coats.
To umbrellas dancing down the street.
To rain and wind and thicker stick to your ribs food.
To the turning of leaves from green to gold...
and the darkening of sky's much earlier in the day.
The lighting of lamps and setting back of clocks.
And the snuggling into fuzzy blankets at night.
And if you are very lucky the cat that was too hot in August, now cuddled up and purring in your ear as you drift off to sleep.
Hello September!

ReplyDeleteHeheheh, sadly, you have just described the summer we had here in the Bonny Land! Perhaps Autumn will bring the sun instead? Love the colours changing, though, and the drawing-in evenings... and the idea of a snugglepuss! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
We like fall, but we would like to skip that winter thing,
ReplyDeleteSweet poem but wish part of it were true! Right now we are hotter in Michigan this week than we have been all summer! Bring on September temps!!!
