Taking chances...

Okay,

Let me get this straight...

There are those in the country who want to open up everything and go back to normal A.S.A.P.

The rest of the country thinks it just might be a good idea for us all to take a breath (if you can)
until we have more of a handle on this whole mess and wait for the little unimportant things...
you know, like testing!

Or are we just going to send  teachers and kids back into schools and open resturants to those who can still infect everyone around them, putting us right smack dab back where we were three weeks ago?

There is a driving force behind this rush to open is the economy .

The belief that If things stay closed and we protect our lives, the economy will tank and that would be worse.

Really?

Lives or dollars?

When did we decide to replace compassion, empathy and the good of humanity with a dollar sign?
Then I remember incidents like Katrina and Puerto Rico...
and I realize this is just a larger version of the incompetence and disgraceful behavior and response that left thousands dead then.

So, nothing has really changed...just the scope and the brazenness of an administration that we now associate with indifference.

How long until November 3rd????

Have a wonderful Sunday...

  1. This is showing us who puts $ over lives. Sigh. At least Canada is doing better than our poor American friends.

  5. There was a time when the world admired the President of the United States as a leader with gravitas and knowledge. Not now.

    Be safe Noodle.

  6. I can't believe people were protesting to go back to work claiming it was about freedom. I would rather lose a little freedom and be alive.

  7. These protests are just tRump rallies since he can't hold his reelection rallies he's been holding since he took office. They're following blindly w/o knowing what they're doing.

  8. Yes, lives have to be more important. We're in NYC, and it may be a while before we're back on track.

  9. While we understand the economy is important, we need to open back up in baby steps...it can be done.

  10. We need to open our lives WHEN it is safe to do so, not before.

There are people who feel safe from this viral pandemic because they have self-isolation already when they choose it at no cost to them and have food supplied to them with little apparent human contact. They have little to fear, and can even get tested pretty much when they want it.

And they want to see OTHER people going back to work to create more wealth for themselves. After all, they think, there are lots of "them". Some die, who cares? There are more...
