Vive la France!

Democrats could learn a thing or two from French president Emmanuel Macron.

The day after Trump's first state dinner, to which no democrats or press were invited, Macron was invited to speak on the floor of the house.
Just in back of him was the cafeteria where in 2003 in a rebuke of the French not taking our side on the Iraq war, they renamed French fries freedom fries.

Macron gave a passionate and powerful speech.

Since Obama left office we really miss good speeches as opposed to the babbling we have come to expect from Mr. Trump.

So, as we said at the beginning, "Vive la France!"

Imagine...

Imagine you're sitting in Starbucks waiting for a friend. Just sitting there minding your own business.

You need to use the bathroom...

Ask anyone you know if they haven't been in some version of this scenario before.

Sorry, I should stipulate, ask anyone you know who is white.

Alright now imagine the same scenario, go ahead close your eyes and imagine the same scenario but in this one you're black...and then all hell breaks loose.

That's what happened to two men waiting for a friend in a Starbucks in Philadelphia.

How is this even possible?

Well, if your asking that question...you're probably white, like me.

Because according to multiple media sources and people I've talked to since this happened, this happens to black people a lot.

In the wake of this  incident, all U.S. Starbucks 8000 stores will close on May 29th and they will be holding training and talking to employees about racism.

That's a good first step, but what's step number two?

Will one day of training change how people think?

This has to be an ongoing discussion and it can't just take place in black communities.

Let's be clear, white fear and white privilege are actual, real things that exist and are thriving in today's society

White people need to educate themselves about how other people are seen and treated as opposed to turning a blind eye or just ignoring the situation.

If they don't, they become complicit.

Imagine if everyone of every race could look at one another and see a person, not a color or religion or gender just another person...

just imagine!

Deja Vu...

Here we are once again staring at these two little words uttered this morning by Donald Trump.
Mission Accomplished.

Just as in the George W. Bush administration and we all know how that ended...

Many are questioning whether this strike on Syria was merely a distraction from all of the other issues plaguing this president.

We don't really know because let's face it there is no known strategy by which to evaluate today's actions.

Confusion is not a strategy, it's a state of chaos and once the chaos dissipates the underlying problems still remain.

Nothing we did in Syria really did anything.

It was all for show.

Unless we are willing to actually do something like take in refugees or discuss actual solutions maybe we shouldn't be so fast to stand locked and loaded.

This is a serious situation and throwing around childish foolish language in place of actual policy is not a sign of strength it's a sign of ignorance.

Have a wonderful weekend...

Who are you people!???

We may just have reached the bottom of the indecency dumpster.

There are a few news outlets and various long forgotten,"celebrities" along with some commentators out there that are lining up like a firing squad to attack some of the hundreds of thousands of kids who protested and continue to protest for some type of gun reform.

I understand why Donald Trump would castigate them, after all they had much bigger crowds than he ever has or ever will.

But who the hell invited all these other people to dump on these kids who are out there pursuing their constitutional right to freedom of speech?

Seriously...who are you people ?! And what have you done with integrity?
You are picking on and bullying traumatized teenagers!
Does that somehow make you feel important and "strong"?

My advice to you...grow up and get a life.

Hurray for the kids!
