Ted Cruz (are you sensing a pattern?)

The Government shutdown.

The antics of Miley Cyrus.

Anything said by either Sara Palin or Donald Trump.

Rand Paul's opinions on so many things.

The totally unacceptable roll out of the Affordable Care Act website, not to be confused with the law itself.

OUR LIST OF; a few things that should have been done...

Immigration reform; http://www.thedreamisnow.org

Expanded back ground checks for gun sales and closing the loop holes in sales over the internet and at gun shows; http://www2.sandyhookpromise.org NO, not taking away anyone's guns!

Officially holding Wall Street accountable for their actions.

Fixing the backlog at the VA so veterans can get their benefits in a reasonable amount of time.

OUR LIST OF; a few under or unreported stories we think you should know about...

Voting rights/Redistricting/Gerrymandering;
Pasadena, Texas is the epitome of what the gutting of the voting rights act by the Supreme Court and  redistricting/ gerrymandering are doing to one of the most basic aspects of democracy...

What's in the medicine you are taking and what medical companies are getting away with that can kill you; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/04/johnson-and-johnson-drug-marketing-charges_n_4212858.html

It's The Weekend!

A big fuzzy hug to The Animal Planet's; Too Cute; Puppy and Kitty Holiday Special. It documents the first Christmas of a litter of kittens and puppies!
Check local listings or their website for times in your area; http://animal.discovery.com/tv-shows/tv-shows.htm

Oops! We did a faux paw! In nominating blogs for the Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers Award, we goofed and re-awarded the award to The Cat On My Head... and even
though they deserve to get lots of awards, we can see how this is a bit redundant.  We be sorry!

And now for NOODLE'S CULTURE CORNER:
Today we present two cat Haikus;

Haiku # 1;

You never feed me
Perhaps I'll sleep on your face.
That will show you.

Haiku # 2

You must scratch me there!
Yes, above my tail! Behold,
elevator butt.

Did you know;
T.S. Elliot's Old Possums Book Of Practical Cats, a collection of whimsical poems, was first published in 1939, with a cover illustration by the author. The book is famous for having inspired the Broadway musical Cats.

We are four days from Christmas ( if you count today )...
We hope you all have a festive and happy holiday. We hope you spend time with those you cherish and those who cherish you. We hope that peace and love and the wonder of childhood fill you're
days and that you take time to be in the moment before it is gone.

Merry, merry and happy, happy holidays to you all...

Whew..

And now we would like to share a really funny Christmas poem from an old card that my human kept for years! We don't know who the author is but kudos to whoever wrote this...

A CAT'S CHRISTMAS

Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring
not even a mouse.
Cuz the cat had pounced on him
and tore him apart
ate his mousey intestines
and chewed up his heart.

Kitty thought he heard sleigh bells
which made him take pause
He stopped daintily licking
the blood from his claws.
" Must be Santa" thought kitty
( that quite clever cat)
Cuz nobody else climbs down
the chimney like that.

Indeed it was Santa
so jolly and fat
With a load of presents
all for the cat.
" Wow, the best Christmas ever!"
kitty thought with a purr.
Then he coughed up a hairball
and shed some more fur.

Have a great Thursday!

MONDAY MORNING MEWSINGS presents...STICKY PAWS and HAIRBALLS vs. KITTY KISSES and FUZZY HUGS...

I know I shouldn't be this close to the twinkly tree but you know how it is... I don't see what they are so worried about anyway. Oh look a shiny thing just moved...I bet I can make it move more. Oh, OK now I know what they were worried about...

A sticky paw to the fact that we seem to be at a place in our history where I can start almost any post with the phrase, "another day, another school shooting", how sad is that?

A big hairy hairball to the fact that we have a smaller number of banks now than at the time of the great depression and because they have been allowed to merge over and over they are now bigger than they were when we first dubbed them; "to big to fail" Can you say monopoly?

A sticky paw and a hairball and a sarcastic "happy holidays" from congress to the 1.3 million long term unemployed that will lose their unemployment benefits a couple of days after Christmas.

And a huge sticky paw to the judge in Texas who gave probation to the teen who killed four people while driving drunk. The defense? Affluenza! No I am not making this stuff up!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/12/affluenza-defense-probation-for-deadly-dwi_n_4430807.html

And now on a cheerier note;

Check out Catmas Carols at;  http://www.amazon.com/Catmas-Carols-Laurie-Loughlin/dp/0811841456

Next; we want to give a shout out to Dexter who made these wonderful big cat ornaments last year to help raise funds to save endangered tigers and other big cats. Aren't they cool?

We had fun Sunday visiting Next To Nature and photographing kitties who need homes, for Friends
Of Animals Foundation...

Here are a couple of the kitties who hope to find new homes; if you live in Seattle or know someone who does, they are waiting...
You can find more kitties waiting for homes at; http://fafseattle.org/Friends_of_the_Animals_Foundation/Petfinder.html

Twenty six hearts...

As we approach the first anniversary of the events in Newtown on December 14th 2012,there is nothing I can say that can express how my heart feels.
I will ask that each one of you go out into the world in the following days and preform a random act of kindness.
Perhaps we will all begin to make these acts not just once a year but make the doing of kindness part of our everyday lives, wouldn't that be a wonderful way to remember...? You can find out about the organizations and projects created in the name of those we remember today at the following links:

With a heavy heart and Noodle hugs.

SOME THINGS FOR THE WEEK END + STICKY PAWS AND HAIR BALLS vs. FUZZY HUGS AND KITTY KISSES...

Many kitty kisses and fuzzy hugs to the memory of Nelson Mandela. It would be a very different world if not for his bravery and determination.

A sticky paw to introducing peppermint PEEP'S for Christmas! Come on... that's like carving pumpkins for Valentine's day.

A big hairy hair ball to Texas. Yep, they get their very own hair ball. For making it harder to vote than to buy an automatic weapon. There is just something terribly wrong with that...

A fuzzy hug to the states that are taking a stand and raising the minimum wage.

Kitty kisses to Rachel Maddow of MSNBC for calling out the media for its use / potential use, of the 911 tapes of  the Newtown shootings that were recently released: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/05/rachel-maddow-newtown-911-audio-tapes-shooting_n_4392773.html

Big fuzzy hugs to holiday decorations! There are sparkling stars and twinkly lights all over the neighborhood. (That's what I'm looking at through the window)

A big sticky paw to congress... Oh, there are soooo many reasons I wouldn't even know where to begin!

A fuzzy hug to the finally up and running effectively, Affordable Care Act website.

And last but not least, kitty kisses to the fact that unemployment dropped to 7%! Not great but we seem to be on the right track.

And we leave you with this:  CAT IMMORTALISED IN MURAL:

This is Next To Nature in Seattle, Washington. The owner had an artist do a mural of the resident cat's face for the building... pretty good likeness huh? We love Next To Nature because of all the wonderful work they do for kitties without homes through Friends Of Animals Foundation. It was through them my humans adopted me!
Check out both of  their websites at: http://www.next-to-nature.com and at: http://fafseattle.org/Friends_of_the_Animals_Foundation/Home.html

Have a great weekend!

A Wintery Wednesday...

I feel just like a star in Hollywood! Even though I am an indoor kitty, I can still go out onto the deck and make paw prints in the snow.

Autograph anyone?

SOME THINGS FOR  THE WEEK END SUNDAY...

versatile-blogger-award-from-radmaverix-11-3-13

An award? For me? Oh my goodness, I don't know what to say...
Thank you to all my friends at The Cat On My Head for nominating me. I have never received an award before! So I guess I should tell everyone seven things you should know about me...

I am a tiger trapped in a cats body.

I am determined to find out what is under the refrigerator and tell the world at long last.

I would love to open the box with Schrodingers Cat and end the suspense.  http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/Schrodingers-cat

Contrary to the rumors, I do not poop in the bath tub!

If I had the chance I would claw the crap out of Justice Antonin Scalia's judicial robe. Not while he was in it of coarse. It would be more of a statement.

When I grow up I want to be a super hero and have my very own comic book.

One of my humans has lived and worked with cheetahs and leopards in Africa over the years and sometimes I find that intimidating, that's some pretty stiff competition! But given that I am sooo adorable, I don't let it bother me for long.

 Thank you again for the award. And here are our nominees;
