It's been a year!
One year of Covid life.
Really think about that...
One year ago we were all walking around worried about what was going to come out of the mouth of our then president.
Or what new horror he'd un lease that day.
And then like the proverbial other shoe dropping we were living with the realities of Covid.
I remember thinking on Election Day, that I should be sooo much more excited that Joe Biden won but we still had to endure weeks of waiting and tweeting and in the end no peaceful transfer of power.
Let's face it the last year has felt surreal!
We're all exhausted mentally.
And yes there are vaccines now and yes there is a crack in the darkness and yes there is reason for hope.
But there are also potholes like Texas governor Greg Abbott and much of the republican party who want to throw open anything and everything in the name of freedom no matter what the consequences.
And at a time when we are so very close to actually beating this thing.
It's been a year...
Let's hope we do better this next one.
Have a wonderful Wednesday,
Noodle and crew

ReplyDeleteYeah, it's happening here too, those who just can't be patient or see the long-term consequences that may arise from the impatience... sigh... I'll just stay snuggled in my Hutch. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
I am getting my first vaccine tomorrow and I am planning on keeping my mask on for a long time.
ReplyDeleteAnd Texas...oh, boy. And removing Seuss. And talking about the kiss in Times Square as “nonconsensual” ....lordy, lordy, if only we would teach critical thinking to children and not try to rewrite literature to be politically correct. Jeez, Louise, we are going to end up robots. Yes, a difficult year, but I must say, things are looking up. Jonquils in the jardin.....
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely been quite the year and we hope and purr things do get better.
