I crave...

Every year for the past 3 years we have participated in a photography project called August Break

Today's prompt was I crave...

We want to send our thoughts and prayers to the people of  Charlottesville, Virginia along with our entry for today's prompt.

I crave an end to hate and violence and all the things that divide us.

I crave a time when we will all see each other as equals and treat each other with respect.

I long for a world in which no one is afraid of their neighbor, their police, their community or their president.

I crave a solution to all this madness.

We must not hide behind the curtain and pretend that there is no problem or that someone else will have to fix it.

We must all step out into the light and face it head on.

We must confront it with compassion, understanding, empathy and tolerance.

Only then can we replace hate with love and begin to heal.

Have a wonderful Sunday...

  4. A lovely image and a heartfelt plea that moved us greatly. What is wrong with the world when we have people for skin colour and gender eh?

Happy Sunday Selfie, have a safe and good week Noodle and family

  6. We agree 100% and it breaks our heart to see what we have become as a nation. Although I believe the good outweighs the bad, the bad has gotten out of hand.

  7. Very well expressed, and we agree. It was a terrible, terrible thing.

  8. We pray for those things, Noodle. Our country is so screwed up right now. The situation in Charlottesville should never have been allowed to happen. As soon as we heard about what was being planned, we knew people were going to get hurt at the very least. You are a very wise kitty, and we wish people would listen to you. The photo of you "hiding behind the curtain" is stunning. Thanks for hopping and always speaking your mind. 9. Well said, and I agree with every word. Your selfie this week is stunning, and reflects I think very well the mood of your post too. We are praying for those that were affected by the horrendous incident in Charlottesville.
Hoping for a better and more loving week ahead...

  10. Beautiful. I am published a website for a 1700s four foot dwarf who was the first abolitionist/equal rights proponent in our history.

  14. Wonderful post, Noodle!

We here crave an end to a Presidency that can't tell the difference between Nazis and people objecting to them.

Who can only say 'nice words" when his staff writes them for him to read in public.

Who objects to those words in his private thoughts but speaks them out loud a day later when he is chained and gagged.

Who agrees with the neo-nazis .

Who thinks they are right, and tries not to show it, but does anyway because deep inside, he is one of them.

    1. I so agree. I find myself waking up in the middle of the night and worrying about what's going on. The President is asking for more violence when the David Dukes of the world support what he says. He's empowering the hate groups.
