Lift off...

                                      (Noodle looking for Space X)

Noodle graciously has given up her Wordless Wednesday, so that I might say a few words...

I grew up in the 60's.

I was alive when we first shot a rocket to the moon.

I remember the pride and thrill of watching Neil Armstrong taking that first step and the words,
"that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"

With the amazing success of the SPACE X   launch yesterday,
February 6th. 2018 will go down in history.

I don't believe in coincidences.

I think everything happens for a reason no matter how insignificant it may seem at the time.

I don't think it was a coincidence that they launched a rocket into the heavens on the anniversary of my mothers passing.

At least I'd love to think in my heart that it was no coincidence.

I imagine instead that the rocket was predestined to soar into space on that exact date to celebrate my mothers life.

To acknowledge her essence.

Or perhaps it really was just a wonderful coincidence...

(my mom is the little one on the end with the arrow pointing at her)

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  4. That launch was sure a meaningful one. My Dad grew up in the 60s too and sometimes he remembers it!

  5. My husband has also been into all things space and was very excited yesterday.

  6. What a sweet thought and a sweet way to honor your mom ! Purrs

  7. Well, I do not see an arrow but they are all adorable. The rocket for your mama was headed for the star named after mine when she died. I think of her daily. What a mama. All the things she taught me. Every one of them ethical, considerate, thoughtful, reflective, curious and more. What moms both of us had.

  8. Predestined to celebrate your mum's life... What a wonderful way to think 'bout that. PURRS.

  11. It was a great launch...though we're still not sure about a car floating out in space.

  12. Sometimes wonderful coincidences are even better than something that is planned!

  13. I remember the Neil Armstrong fabulous thing as though it were yesterday! Living in FLA I viewed many a launch from my kitchen window.
