SOMETHINGS FOR THE WEEKEND:
Did you know that in 1888 a farmer in Egypt found an ancient cemetery containing 10,000 mummified cats? They ended up being used for fertilizer! As they say; ashes to ashes." Cats are intended to teach us that not everything in nature has a purpose"- Garrison Keillor
" One of the oldest human needs is to have someone to wonder where you are when you don't come home at night"- Margret Mead, on cats.
" It is a very inconvenient habit of kittens that whatever you say to them, they always purr." Lewis Carroll
On a political note:
A fuzzy hug and a kitty kiss to the CEO of Starbucks for taking another stand ( the second in the past couple of months!) Telling congress to " do the right thing!" and encouraging patrons to sign a petition telling congress to get their act together and stop the shut down and extend the debt ceiling... you know like we always have in the past no matter who was in control of the White House, senate and congress. "Hey, you guys work for us remember?"

On Paris;
Gargoyles: They watch over the city... here is just one from the top of the bell tower of Notre Dame Cathedral. To get here you must climb a very narrow stairway ascending 270ft and consisting of 384 stairs all spiraling upwards in a stairwell that will only accommodate one person at a time. Be warned. It's hard even for someone who has a regular cardio regime. But the view is worth every labored breath!
Have a wonderful week end everybody!
Thanks for the tip about those stairs at Notre Dame. The humans are heading to Paris in a couple of weeks. We can't believe they are leaving again. We are still trying to catch up from their last desertion. Mom says that if she can do the Bell Tower steps in Siena with a spinal fracture that she can do Notre Dame. We'll let you know how that works out! Purrs and hugs, lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Paris! And watch all those steps.

Speaking of Starbucks, you can also sign the petition in their store. I saw one in my neighborhood Starbucks this morning when I made a coffee run. I live in California.
