Betting the farm...

What do lobsters, nails, apples, motorcycle's, and milk have in common?

Tariffs that's what.

I get it, if you look at the job numbers right now and the economy, well, it all looks rosy.

But, and this is a big but, we are standing on the precipice.

All the Jenga blocks have been removed that could hold us up and here comes that big but all that needs to happen is for someone to remove that one little block and... hold on honey it's going to get mighty dicey out there.

Those who believe in this president think he's a great business man and that the tariffs may hurt them momentarily but in the end they'll come out better.

I wish I knew what they were basing their assumptions on other than Trumps rhetoric.

Statistically, looking at his business record you couldn't pick a worse example.

I heard an interview with a farmer who is losing buckets of money as well as contracts he negotiated with other companies that took three years to put in place, ( 3 years!) and he still believes Trump knows what he's doing and will follow him to the end.

Even though I think the people who think this way are bringing forth their own doom, I can't help but feel sorry for them.

People all over the country are making horrific decisions against their own best interests whether it be health care or Social Security or tariffs and holding on to a misguided faith in someone who really doesn't care about them at all.

All he needs is for them to show up at his rallies and chant "USA, USA, USA" and "build the wall"
which by the way although Trump assures his followers is being built IT IS NOT!

The sad thing is that once he doesn't need them anymore because he's not running or he's ousted from his presidency, what will happen then?

When they have literally bet the farm and lost it...

Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Good questions, as always. But, Noodle, we who read your great posts are not the people who need to read them, unfortunately. HOW DO WE GET TO THE RURAL TRUMP SUPPORTERS WHO BELIEVE THIS FALSE NEWS, LIES, AND THE WORDS FROM A BABBLING IDIOT? Karma, do your duty!

  4. A sad state of affairs indeed, Noodle. Ironically, the trade war will hit hard in Trump country.

  5. Killing the goose that laid the golden egg won't ever get you any more eggs or geese! StillI wonder who will come out of this with a smile on their face? NOT the average Jane or Joe, not the Americans that have seen renewable energy jobs cut due to tariffs that make then not profitable, nor those that could make the country great but are deprived of education. Who knew one man could single handedly bring a country to it's knees....... Oh hang on wasn't there a guy in Korea?

  12. Those who vote against their own interests shall reap what they sow.

  14. When nations get mad at each other, that is sad. But when inividual JERKS leading nations get mad, that is much worse.

Sadly, everything is going even worse than we expected.

Stoopid US, we thought at least the REST OF THE WORLD would beat some sense into the orange idiot! Apparently, he is beyond pressure and sense. Have to hope for November.

  15. Best Con Man EVER! Perhaps in the history of the world. How are we going to explain this mess to future generations when asked why didn't someone do anything to stop it?

  17. The current state of affairs in our great country is very sad. Very, very sad. Some politicians are only out for their own good, not the country's.

  18. I've so much to add but pretty much everyone here says it like it is. Right about now America, to most of us and the rest of the world, is anything but great.
