Two important words...

If you haven't been thinking about the presidential race coming up in 2020,
I have two very important words for you; the electoral college.

The past two Republican presidents were both "elected" by the electoral college and NOT the popular vote!

There have only been 5 presidents who have won the office without the popular vote.

The republican party has been working quietly behind the scenes for years gerrymandering districts in favor of the Republicans.

Gerrymandering has a direct impact on the electoral college and who wins the election

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 3 million votes!

And still Donald Trump is president.

That is what the electoral college can do...

And on a more positive note...
we offer you a moment in time when no one was thinking Make America Great Again. We all thought this America was pretty darn great.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  5. Noodle, you look very serious today, and this is a very serious post. We definitely think America used to be great and the stoopy President and his followers keep dragging it down. Mom keeps saying that she is happy to be an old lady so she doesn’t have to live lots more decades with the mess we are in. Anyhoo, thanks for joining our blogoversary hop. 7. It is ironic that The Electoral College actually chooses the President. What we actually vote for in Presidential Elections are the members of The Electoral College.

The intent of The Electoral College was that it would assemble to consider the votes of the States and refuse to allow demagogues to take the office.

The intent was that our chosen electoral representatives would not allow someone like Trump. But along the way, the States and national politicians resented this control. They eventually weakened it to near non-existence by choosing Electoral College Members by ppolitical party and by requiring them to vote on party lines.

So 2 good things that voters could require would be first, Electoral College independence, and second, neutral commissions to establish State voting districts designed to promote maximum political competition (eliminating Gerrymandering)
